Feed Business Stationery Made Easy

May 20th, 2013
Edited by: vicki

We’ll be the first to admit that Carbonless (or NCR) Forms are not the most exciting piece of business stationery.

However these handy duplicate pads can be used for invoices, orders, receipts, statements, consignments, job reports and a host of other important business processes.

Exciting? Perhaps not. Essential? Absolutely!

Bespoke Carbonless Form Design and Print Service

NCR Multi Part FormsAt Lingo Design we regularly help clients with this aspect of their business systems stationery. NCR Pads can be quite a complex piece of print and typically could include:

  • Multi-part colour sheets (e.g. yellow / pink / green)
  • Sequential numbering
  • Glued binding (to form a pad with backing board) or left loose
  • Range of sizes
  • Customized form fields, layout and company branding

Recently we completed these Collection and Delivery Pads (pictured above) to our customer’s exact requirements.

Feed Luxurious Leaflets for The Therapy Lounge

March 13th, 2013
Edited by: vicki

Marketing Leaflet for Downham Market Beauty SalonDownham Market’s favourite place to be pampered has to be The Therapy Lounge.

It offers a huge array of treatments from manicures to massage and spray tans to skin-care.

Whether it’s a facial or a full pamper package, a Therapy Lounge treatment is guaranteed to inject a little bit of luxury into your day.

They had been using black and white photo-copied price-lists to let customers know about all the services that they had on offer. However they came to Lingo wanting to upgrade to something glossy and full colour.

A communication piece that would tell customers more about their available services, all with that same feeling of ‘a little bit of luxury’.

We created this handbag sized ‘keep me’ booklet printed on a high quality, glossy paper stock. The slightly unusual square shape gives it a bit of extra oomph while the thicker paper stock will keep it looking lovelier for longer.

We were mindful to use The Therapy Lounge’s existing website branding, imagery and colour scheme to ensure a strong and consistent visual identity.

Feed Lifestyles Festival 2013

February 18th, 2013
Edited by: LingoLiz

Lingo are proud to be supporting the awesome Lifestyles Festival again for 2013.

With a new website in the pipelines, social media support and printed programme design, we’ll be busy publishing and promoting all of the many extreme sports activities you can find at the festival in Hunstanton.

We’re looking forward to getting thrown in once again to where “Beach meets Street”!

Feed Fun in Sunny* Hunny at Lifestyles Festival

June 22nd, 2012
Edited by: vicki

If you’d been in Hunstanton over Jubilee weekend you might have spotted Liz, Vicki and Laura sporting some very fetching fluorescent orange polo shirts. No, we weren’t community sentence litter-pickers (where would you get an idea like that?!) we were volunteering at the thoroughly awesome Lifestyles Festival.

While the sun’s up Lifestyles brings together street sports like BMX, Parkour, Stakeboarding & Street Dance and water sports such as Kitesurfing, Windsurfing and SUP (Stand-Up Paddle Boarding). There are very few events with such a wide alternative sports offering, and the best thing is that both the general public and local schools are able to sign-up for free ‘have a go’ sessions.

Then, as the sun starts to set, the evenings slide into an eclectic music line up across two stages. Not forgetting one of the best VW ‘Show and Shines’ anywhere along the Norfolk Coast.

But enough of how brilliant it is, why were we there in our tangerine t-shirts?

Lifestyles Festival Brand Printed Materials

This year Lingo designed and maintained the festival website as well as designing the 24 page printed programme, posters and banner artwork. We also took on a larger stake in the event’s management, social media and sponsorship.

Lifestyles is a wonderful festival and thanks to West Norfolk & King’s Lynn Council, Hunstanton Sailing Club and a dedicated team of volunteers we hope the event will go on from strength to strength.

See you there next year?

Feed LOVE CONTENT

February 14th, 2012
Edited by: LingoLiz

This Valentines day, Lingo are sending our not-so-secretive admission of admiration to the entity of content. We love content so much, we’re almost lost for words (now, that would be ironic!) and we wanted to show our affection.

We just can’t get enough of the ‘blah-blah’ the ‘yadda yadda’, and even the ‘rhubarb rhubarb’! Quite simply put, those websites with well written wording out-perform their content-light competitors time and time again.

Fact friendly headlines and properly put together paragraphs hold the browsers gaze on the page long after the graphics have grabbed their attention. Text delivers the narrative of the company and gets into the visitors brain, and Search Engines would be no-where without it.

The demand for increased copy is often a sticking point for the design process, with many website owners struggling to get the good stuff created.  We often help with copy writing and we love it, but we need somewhere to start. Some basic facts, a bullet list here and there, something to go on. You don’t need to be a Bard to get something written for your webpage, you just need to start writing.

Here’s a few of my favourite questions to help bring forth content…

What makes you different?

Where did it all begin?

Why do you do things your way?

What can you tell me that will help me decide?

If you’re still stuck – another good tip is to make a note of the phrases you use time and time again to describe what you do and how you do it – when on the phone to a new customer, when explaining what you do to a new acquaintance… jot these commonly used phrases down. It’s likely they will contain some of your Target Keywords too.

We’re aiming for unique, informative, interesting, useful but most importantly, adequate. Nothing is harder to work on than ‘nothing’!

Like I said; we love content. The more you give us the more we can do with it. There really should be no limit to what you can give! Just like LOVE.

Happy Valentines Day y’all.

Feed Our new client Jane sets a blogging example for us all!

June 22nd, 2010
Edited by: steve

I had a wonderful meeting yesterday with the incredibly talented ‘Mixed Media Artist’ Jane Clark. After a bit of mindmapping and a lot of business chatting – we’ve almost got to grips with the current set up of Jane’s websites, which currently combine an excellent level of photography, information and brilliant blog posts…via WordPress and Blogger (two tools we strongly recommend, and I use myself).

For those of you clients who struggle to think up new ideas to talk about in your site blogs, this lady is one to watch, “there’s always something to talk about” says Jane – passing on and sharing information or other useful ideas and resources makes a blog interesting and infinity revisit-able. Even our design consultation was blogged about the SAME DAY it happened, a whole day quicker than I managed, and a wonderful post too – thank you Jane!

The new site, which will continue to make the most of the hard work done so far and the blogging tools, will also offer the opportunity for visitors to buy fantastic prints, quilts, paintings and other artistic creations through a secure payment section of the site as well as providing more information about art tuition and classes available.

So, watch this space art lovers – and even if you’re not ‘in-to’ all that, the site makes for excellent inspiration and a great blogging example too www.art2inspire.co.uk !

Feed Lingo’s 2nd time @ the inspirational ‘Internet World’ exhibition – Earls Court

April 28th, 2010
Edited by: steve

Another year, another thoroughly enjoyable, thought provoking and tiring trip down to the Internet World exhibition @ Earls Court.

This year, we were all struck by the focus on CMS tools and mobile app development. CMS tools have been developing rapidly, and the market leaders are all keen to empress why their system is the best. After being given the mega pitch all day from eager sales guys, I came away thinking how pleased I am with our system and excited about it’s possibilities, but keen to promote it, as my fondness for it has developed even further. As for the mobile and web application development, it was interesting to see the early developers battling it out for the foothold on which platform to use, with the iPhone and Android systems leading the way, but a strong case being put forward for developers to concentrate on web apps first and foremost which made perfect sense to me!

After learning the best way to tackle the hundreds of exhibits from last year, we spent time carefully researching new emerging techniques, tools and trends while also comparing products and prices for our existing service providers (such as hosts and email marketing systems) to the ones on show. It’s reassuring to hear from the experts that the ideas you have and techniques you use as a company are solid and popular and it’s always good to see examples of other companies working on the same principles.

We’re a few streets ahead when it comes to custom facebook pages – but more on that later!

All in all though, a useful day for all the team, with loads of ideas and inspirational resources to think about! (not to mention a massive selection of stressballs, pens, keyrings and other such freebies to help us remember those companies that want to be remembered…) – A special thanks to iomart. for the best give-aways of the day – fruit shaped stressballs and free fruit smoothies!!
